Prayer For Character

“Lord, I know I’m not good at being an intimate friend.

I am loyal but I think I need to go beyond that.

‘See if there is any hurtful way in me,’

What thoughts have created a neural path in my mind?

Have I let misconceptions create harmful patterns there?

‘Lead me in the way of Everlasting Life,’

Correct my thinking, God,

Straighten what I have made crooked.

Help me see the tests for what they are;

You are actively involved in shaping my character.

I give you permission

‘Search me, God, and know my heart.’

Test me; evaluate and correct.

I want you to make me aware of my iniquity and

Change me!

I want to always choose Life!”
