The Purpose and Effect of CHRIST Upon Miracles and Curse.
Back in 2023, we had a severe family medical situation that left me seeking God for miracles at first but the seeking morphed into fundamental questions about who God is and the nature of our existence here as humanity, as deep introspection into your faith often does, I am right? The questions I brought forth then were honest and held a lot of doubt at the time. After living a little more life and peeling back the onion skins of the Lord’s goodness continually as I age, I wanted to revisit this journal entry to sit in my seeking and again muse on my former queries.
(As a little background I was asking God for a miracle of healing in body for someone as a starting point. I’ve edited my original journal to keep privacy of those involved.)
“Unless…God you do a real miracle. The miracle is not… surgical wisdom to make terrible situations not as terrible. The miracle is restoring…to perfect health that bypasses the consequences of… former life decisions and accrued diseases. Transforming their body into a healthy robust one. Perfect blood vessels, perfect nerves, perfectly whole and restored. That’s not the only miracle I see as being worthy of its name. That would give them life and allow them to die at a ripe old age, normal to mankind. The real miracle would be the healing of their relationship with their loved ones. A softening of their hearts and full repentance and humility toward one another with forgiveness and honor. That’s the miracle. With out those miracles this whole situation is not remedied or redeemed. Without those miracles, the pain, the suffering, the torturous hope is strung out and frayed; life continues to be a tightrope walk where there is no rest, only survival. That kind of living is day to day and life is postponed.
“Is that what you want for your people? No rest? No living? Just surviving? Sure, that kind of existence is dependent upon faith, reliant upon a blinding trust and hope upon the rock who is higher than I, but it’s hellish. Is that how you want your people to exist? Holding onto you in fear of death, begging for sustenance, eyes closed to all else in reality so they don’t take their eyes off you? Seems like the work of satan and not a loving father.
“It seems like we are all engulfed in satans plans and not yours, if indeed you are life and life abundantly. It seems like our existence is still suppressed in curse. Our bodies seem cursed. Our societies seem cursed. Our health seems cursed. Our relationships seem cursed.
Is Life Still Supressed By Curse?
“What effect did Christ work achieve, for your people to still be so heavily burdened by curse? Well, as I see it, Christ’s effect and his purpose are this.
The Purpose of Christ
His purpose was to become a human and operate within the boundaries of Cosmic Law on the earth
To live without succumbing to the beast, to pass the test, to obey the Father
To usher in the kingdom of God on earth (as seen through miracles of exorcism, healing and provision)
To obey he had to obey to the point of death
In death he could act as Second Adam: access Sheol from the inside to liberate captives and preach victory, make the Law of Moses obsolete, the cosmic law of human sin and debt paid universally, and with his blood purchase the freedom of all captives of sin and death
The Effect of Christ
It pleased the Father to exalt Him and give him all power and authority in heaven and on earth
He was raised from the dead into a glorified body and eternal Life
All who are His are promised that same glorified body transformation and eternal life also one day
All who are his are given the Holy Spirit as a deposit until that day. A source of cosmic wisdom, peace and power in every believer.
We are no longer slaves to sin and death does not have the final say
We are no longer subject to rulers of this age and principalities of darkness and powers of heavenly places…we too are seated in heavenly places with Christ.
He has created a new thing, the church, an extension of himself on the earth in the flesh (they do what he would do and what he did while here and greater)
We are commissioned to go into all the world making disciples and baptizing people in the Name of Father, Son and Spirit, teaching obedience to Christs commands (love and self sacrifice, doing righteousness and justice, adhering to the wisdom and heart of the law)
He is putting all things into submission to Himself.
Set in motion the count down until his return at the end of the age
“That is the theoretical effect of Christs death (and resurrection) so what is the experiential effect humanity and the earth had since then?
Experiential Effect of Christ on Earth Since Then
Real men and women have been martyred over these beliefs
Disciples of Christ have obeyed his commands and performed miracles far and wide
The Bible has been preserved miraculously for millennia
Civilization has improved life for humanity: global poverty decreased, education, medicine, healthcare, arts and general compassion for marginalized peoples increase in Christian influenced cultures.
Tragic anti-Christ Consequences of a Flawed “Church”
Unfortunately people have been colonized, harassed, forcibly converted and inevitably harmed by Christians with “good intentions” and churches with bad theology and doctrines.
Christianity had been turned into a religion of Pharisees somewhere along the way
Christianity has been written off as rubbish, folklore, dangerous, ineffective or irrelevant.
There is a chasm between Christianity, real science and academia in general, the idea of truth belonging to one or the other because of poor theology and doctrinal idolatry.
Tough Circumstances Despite the Church
We still live in a world full of evil
We have a firm sense of “ought not/ought to” across humanity but few are awake enough to see why.
It’s a dark place to live. Beauty and happiness are very superficial and fleeting but of the highest value. So is power or control. Things like comfort, status, autonomy and pleasure are paramount.
When Christian’s pray for miracles, healings and break throughs, more often than not, prayers are ineffective
Silence from God seems normal
Lots of Christians struggle financially, relationally and emotionally.
The voice of governments, societies, culture and institutions speaks louder and clearer than Jesus’s voice in the world today.
Most Christians I know aren’t skilled at reading the Bible or even well versed in it, too many are biblically illiterate
Being Christian has become synonymous with hypocrisy. Righteousness, which culture has hijacked as being a good person (religion) and most people believe they can be a good person without Christ, giving of themselves only until they have nothing to draw on to give and then turn inward perpetually
“Back to my original question..Is life still suppressed by curse? This life, this age, where humans live on planet earth, where Christ tabernacled among us and changed everything for us… is this life is still suppressed by curse? While Christ did come and he did liberate us from the curse of the Law (law holds that righteousness comes from perpetual cleansing and atonement and strict adherence to every rule and regulation) and he did liberate the captives from Sheol, and he did liberate us from Sin, what do we make of the tangible evil and curse-like conditions that surround our lives?”
Was Christ’s purpose and effect ineffectual and meaningless or is there a flaw in our seeing and understanding? Is perhaps only a portion of life suppressed by curse? OR rather is the entirety of life only now kissed by curse rather than oppressed by it?
This is a topic for further mulling on. What are your thoughts? What are your experiences with curse and freedom?
